GORILLAS IN THE MIDST (EP 2)
The war in the Democratic Republic of the Congo alone is the widest interstate war in modern African history. The war is centered mainly in eastern Congo where the park is located. According to The International Rescue Committee 3.8 million people died in the DRC between August 1998 and April 2004 – when the bulk of the fighting occurred.
So these majestic primates live in a small green oasis surrounded by a sea of people that are slowly destroying their habitat and if left unchecked will destroy the species.
