So, what is "grow to sew"? Basically, it's the idea that every step of the t-shirt supply chain – which is a pretty complicated process – occurs in sub-Saharan Africa. Rather than just buying our cotton there and shipping it to China, we do e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g in Africa. This leads to jobs, skill transfer, and trade on the ground that helps create a base for a stable and long-term apparel industry. It's a model we'd like to see other companies adopt.
